Insulation covers keeping in the heat
We’ve recently installed new insulation covers on steam valves and instruments at our Allansford, Cobram and Kiewa sites. These soft lagging covers substantially reduce energy losses through radiation, leading to gas savings and increased energy efficiency.
The covers are expected to reduce radiation heat losses by up to 95 percent. They will also cut CO2 emissions across the three sites by 1,540 metric tonnes per year.
This initiative, also implemented at Burnie earlier in the year, aligns with our Saputo Promise to further reduce our carbon footprint. It also delivers significant cost savings by decreasing the natural gas needed for steam generation.
