Seating boost for Lockington Recreation Reserve
5 November 2025
Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) has contributed $10,000 through its Legacy Program to the Lockington Recreation Reserve to support the purchase and installation of permanent new aluminium seating.
This funding has enabled the Reserve to install new courtside and undercover oval-side seating, including two 3-tier and two 2-tier aluminium stands. These upgrades replace aging portable seating and significantly improve comfort, safety and accessibility for spectators and volunteers alike.
Colin Bacon, President of the Lockington Recreation Reserve Management Committee, expressed his gratitude. “We’re very appreciative of Saputo’s commitment and this fantastic investment support. Our previous seating was in disrepair and posed safety risks. The new permanent seating improves safety for spectators and volunteers, while reducing the workload for our dedicated volunteers. It will enhance the viewing experience for all Reserve users, which is the central hub for our community.”
The Reserve is located in a key milk supply region for SDA and is just 20 minutes from its Rochester AG Warehouse store.
Kate Ryan, SDA’s Director of Milk Supply & Planning said, “Many of our team members, suppliers and customers are actively involved with the Reserve’s user groups, whether as dedicated committee volunteers or enthusiastic participants.
“The Reserve plays a vital role connecting people locally and we’re proud to support their efforts to foster active lifestyles and provide a place for people to come together. Through this contribution, we’re committed to leaving a lasting and meaningful legacy,” she said.
The Saputo Legacy Program funds local sport and health infrastructure projects to help build healthier communities. It is part of Saputo’s global commitment to invest one percent of its pre-tax profits each year in community programs and organisations that promote a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages.

Each year, approximately 15,000 people utilise its facilities, which include social clubrooms and kitchen, multi-purpose courts, a sporting oval, grass tennis courts, gym and a well-utilised playground for younger children.
